Job Description: Infrastructure Engineer (Ops and Applications)

Location: Gauteng

Salary: R780k

DESCRIPTION

Design, deploy, and maintain high-performance systems (on-prem and cloud) to ensure the business effectiveness. You will be the backbone of the IT environment, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Infrastructure & DC Management:

Full lifecycle management of hardware, storage, and virtualisation across HQ and DR sites.

Cloud & Virtualisation:

Building and scaling VMs, virtual networking, and managing Azure/O365 tenants and subscriptions.

Maintenance:

Proactive patching, firmware roll-ups, daily health checks, and automated monitoring.

Collaboration Tools:

Managing Exchange, Teams (including telephony), and AV platforms.

Data Integrity:

Overseeing Commvault backups, archiving, and disaster recovery.

Documentation:

Developing SOPs, configuration logs, and remediation plans.

Key Competencies

Technical Breadth:

Proficiency in Linux, LAN/WAN, VOIP, F5 equipment, and System Center.

Soft Skills:

High-pressure problem solving, clear communication across all business levels, and a keen eye for detail.

Education/Experience

Education:

Education: National

Certifications:

MCSE/MCITP, A+/N+, ITIL Foundation, and VMware (VCP) or Hyper-V.

Experience:

5+ years in data centre and infrastructure support and Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Cloud, and Exchange (2016/19 & Online).
